Gold and Silver Charms at Kiti

Charms are the most personal pieces of jewellery we sell. One charm on a chain is a quiet initial; five is a story about the people, places and dates that matter to you. Our charms come from Coluri, whose collection is designed to be mixed, swapped and added to over time, so a charm necklace never has to stay the same for long. As with everything at Kiti, we buy in small batches and do not restock, so the letters and designs on offer change through the year.

Letter Charms

Coluri letter charms are bold alphabet pendants, around 28mm tall, in gold or silver. Wear a single initial, spell out a short name, or combine the initials of your children, your partner or your closest friends on one chain. Letter charms also make one of the simplest personalised gifts there is, with no engraving or waiting involved.

Zodiac Charms

The Coluri double-sided zodiac charms celebrate your star sign, with a design on both sides so they look right whichever way they turn. They are a lovely birthday present, especially paired with a letter charm, and Coluri describe them as waterproof.

Tarot Charms

Our tarot charms take their designs from the cards: The Sun for joy and confidence, The Moon for intuition, The Star for hope, The Lovers for connection and The Empress for strength and creativity. Wear the card that speaks to you, or mix two or three on a chain as a personal talisman. Like the zodiac charms, the Coluri tarot charms are described as waterproof.

Talisman Charms

The Coluri Talisman charm is the colourful one: an amulet with a rotating rhinestone at its centre, in a range of enamel-bright colours, finished in gold or silver. It brings a pop of colour to a gold or silver charm necklace and is easy to clip on and take off.

How to Wear Charms

Our charms are designed to clip onto the Coluri charm chains, which come in thin and thick versions in gold or silver, and onto the Coluri charm bracelet. A thin chain suits one or two charms close to the neck; a thick chain carries a fuller cluster and makes more of a statement. You can find both in our necklaces edit, and the bracelet in our bracelets edit.

  • One charm: a single initial or star sign on a thin chain
  • Two or three: an initial with a zodiac or tarot charm
  • A cluster: three to five charms on a thick chain, mixing gold and silver
  • On the wrist: a charm bracelet with one or two favourites

Odd numbers tend to look more balanced, and mixing shapes, such as a letter, a round zodiac charm and a Talisman, keeps a cluster interesting. Gold and silver together look deliberate rather than mismatched.

Charms as Gifts

Charms are an easy present to get right because you can make them personal without guessing anyone's size. A letter charm and a chain is a complete gift on its own, and adding a charm each birthday or anniversary turns it into something that grows over the years. If you are not sure where to start, come and see us in Cardiff and we will help you put a set together. For more gift ideas, browse our accessories.

Caring for Your Charms

Our charms are PVD plated stainless steel, which is more resistant to wear than standard plating. Wipe them with a soft dry cloth now and then, keep them away from perfume where you can, and store each one in its pouch so the plating does not get scratched by other jewellery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What chain do I need for charms?

Our charms are designed to clip onto the Coluri charm chains, available thin or thick in gold or silver, and onto the Coluri charm bracelet. A thin chain suits one or two charms and a thick chain carries a fuller cluster.

Are Coluri charms waterproof?

Coluri describe their zodiac and tarot charms as waterproof. All of our charms are gold or silver plated PVD over stainless steel, which stands up well to everyday wear.

Should I choose gold or silver charms?

Choose the metal you wear most, or mix both. Gold and silver charms together on one chain look modern and make it easier to wear your charm necklace with any other jewellery.

How many charms should I wear on a necklace?

There is no rule, but one to three charms suit a thin chain and three to five suit a thick chain. Odd numbers and a mix of shapes tend to look the most balanced.

Are charms a good gift?

Yes. Letter and zodiac charms are personal without needing a size, and you can add a new charm for each birthday or anniversary so the gift grows over time.
