Gold Bracelets for Women at Kiti

A good bracelet is the easiest piece of jewellery to wear every day. It sits under a shirt cuff, next to a watch or on its own with a T-shirt, and it rarely has to work around a neckline. We buy our bracelets in small batches from a handful of labels, so the edit changes through the year and styles are not restocked once they sell. What stays the same is the focus: gold bracelets for women that look considered, layer easily and are built to be worn rather than kept in a box.

Alongside gold, you will find silver and mixed-metal options, plus a few playful pieces such as gold-trimmed hair tie bracelets that live on your wrist until you need them. If you are looking for the matching piece, our necklaces and earrings edits carry many of the same labels.

Tennis Bracelets

The tennis bracelet is a line of stones set side by side on a fine flexible band, and it is the piece most people start a stack with. The Orelia LUXE Tennis Bracelet is 18k gold plated stainless steel set with cubic zirconia, and it is waterproof, so it can stay on for the gym, the shower and the sea. Talis Chains make a ridged tennis bracelet with 5A graded cubic zirconia on 18 carat gold plated brass, which gives a slightly bolder, more textured sparkle. Both look just as good on their own as they do beside a chain.

Gold Bangles and Cuffs

If you prefer a cleaner line, a gold bangle or cuff does the job with one piece. Orelia make a fine wave bangle in polished 18k gold plated recycled brass and an organic cuff set with green jade, a semi-precious stone, so the colour varies slightly from piece to piece. Bangles and cuffs are not adjustable, so measure the widest part of your hand before you buy, or come and try them in store.

Chain Bracelets and Chunky Links

Chain bracelets are the backbone of the edit. Tilly Sveaas curb Clipt bracelets take their swivel detail from Tilly's great-great-uncle's watch chain, with a brass chain plated in 2 microns of 18kt gold and gold plated sterling silver swivels; the silver version is sterling silver throughout. They come in medium and large links, and the large is a proper statement.

By Alona bracelets are made in the UK and include a mariner chain with interlocking oval links, a chunky rolo chain finished with a cubic zirconia clasp, and a mixed oval and rope-textured curb chain. For a heavier look, the Talis Chains chunky link bracelet does exactly what it says, while Orelia offer a waterproof watch chain bracelet and an organic oval link T-bar bracelet if you want the T-bar detail on your wrist rather than your neck.

Charm and Gemstone Bracelets

For something more personal, the Coluri charm bracelet comes in 18K gold plated or 925 silver plated PVD over stainless steel, ready to hold the letter, zodiac and tarot pieces in our charms edit. Orelia also make a delicate waterproof chain with three starfish charms already attached.

Gemstone bracelets bring colour and texture to a gold stack. The Talis Chains Alabama stretch bracelets mix stones such as tiger's eye and smoky quartz with gold plated details, and the Gas Bijoux Totem Stones bracelet sets medallions on a gold plated mesh band. Natural stones vary, so no two are quite the same.

How to Build a Bracelet Stack

Start with one anchor piece, usually a tennis bracelet or a fine chain, then add contrast. A chunky curb or rolo chain next to something delicate looks deliberate; three pieces of exactly the same weight can look like one blurred line. Mixing metals is fine and often looks better than matching, especially if you already wear a silver watch. Keep to one statement piece per wrist, and wear bangles closest to the hand so chains do not catch on them.

  • Anchor: a tennis bracelet or fine chain
  • Contrast: a chunky link or curb chain
  • Texture: a gemstone or beaded piece
  • Finish: a bangle, cuff or charm bracelet

Gold Plated, Vermeil or Solid Gold?

Almost all of our bracelets are gold plated, which means a layer of real gold bonded over a base metal such as brass or stainless steel. Gold vermeil is a thicker layer of gold over sterling silver, and solid gold is gold all the way through. We focus on well-made plated and vermeil jewellery because it lets you wear a bigger, bolder look every day at a sensible price. Where a piece is waterproof or made on stainless steel, we say so on the product page.

Caring for Gold Plated Bracelets

Put bracelets on after perfume, moisturiser and hairspray, and take brass-based pieces off before swimming, bathing or exercise. Wipe them with a soft dry cloth after wearing and store each one separately in its pouch so chains do not scratch or tangle. Stainless steel styles marked as waterproof can be worn in water, though a rinse in fresh water after the sea or a pool keeps them looking their best.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are gold plated bracelets waterproof?

It depends on the base metal. Pieces made on stainless steel and described as waterproof, such as the Orelia LUXE range and Coluri, can be worn in water. Gold plated brass bracelets last longer if you keep them dry, so take them off before swimming, bathing or exercise.

What is the difference between gold plated and gold vermeil?

Gold plated jewellery has a layer of real gold over a base metal such as brass or stainless steel. Gold vermeil has a thicker layer of gold over sterling silver. Both give the look of gold at a fraction of the price of solid gold.

What size bracelet should I buy?

Most of our chain bracelets are between 15cm and 19.5cm long, and several have an extension chain so you can adjust the fit. Bangles and cuffs are not adjustable, so measure your wrist and the widest part of your hand first, or ask us for advice.

What is a tennis bracelet?

A tennis bracelet is a fine, flexible bracelet set with a continuous line of stones. Ours are set with cubic zirconia on gold plated stainless steel or brass, and they work on their own or as the base of a bracelet stack.

Can you wear gold and silver bracelets together?

Yes. Mixing gold and silver bracelets looks modern and relaxed, and it is the easiest way to wear gold jewellery with a silver watch. Keep one metal slightly dominant so the stack still feels considered.

Can I try bracelets on in Cardiff?

Yes. Our boutique on Pontcanna Street in Cardiff stocks our jewellery, and we are always happy to help you build a bracelet stack or check the fit of a bangle.
