Women's Designer Socks at Kiti

Socks have come a long way from the plain black pair. These days they are part of the outfit, the little flash of colour between a cropped trouser and a loafer, or the pattern that peeks out above a boot. We choose our socks with the same care as the rest of the shop: comfortable to wear all day, made to last through plenty of washes and interesting enough to be seen.

Most of the edit comes from Becksöndergaard, the Danish label whose socks have something of a cult following, alongside crew socks from Belgian brand Bellerose, two-packs from London label Damson Madder and a printed crew sock from BAGGU.

Crew Socks

Crew socks are the everyday all-rounder. They sit above the ankle bone, roughly at mid-calf, so they show just enough above a trainer or loafer and stay put under trousers. Our Bellerose crew socks come in rich, grown-up colours that work with almost everything, while the BAGGU crew sock brings a more playful print. Many of our Becksöndergaard styles are crew length too, in dotted, grid and colourblock designs.

Patterned and Statement Socks

If you like your socks to say something, this is where to look. Becksöndergaard is known for its patterned socks, and the edit includes dotted designs, grid patterns and colourblock styles in rich seasonal colours. Damson Madder adds a spotted two-pack that makes an easy gift, or an easy treat for yourself.

Patterned socks work best when the rest of the outfit gives them room. Try them with plain jeans or trousers cropped at the ankle, or with a skirt and loafers for a look that feels relaxed but put together.

Short Socks

For lower-cut shoes, a shorter sock sits neatly below the hem of a cropped trouser. Our Becksöndergaard short socks keep a little of that signature detail while staying discreet, and they pair beautifully with ballet flats and low trainers.

How to Wear Socks with Shoes

  • With loafers: a fine, patterned or colourful crew sock turns a classic loafer into a styling moment. Keep the trouser cropped so the sock shows.
  • With trainers: crew socks pulled up and on show look fresh with jeans, shorts or a midi skirt.
  • With boots: a thicker sock folded over the top of an ankle boot adds texture and warmth. Browse our boots edit for the perfect pair.
  • With sandals: socks and sandals are a confident spring look. Choose a fine sock in a soft colour.

Socks as a Gift

A pair of beautiful socks is one of our favourite small gifts. They are easy to choose, they do not depend on clothing sizes and they always get worn. A two-pack or a couple of contrasting pairs tucked into a card makes a thoughtful stocking filler, a birthday extra or a thank you.

Caring for Your Socks

To keep socks soft and bright, wash them inside out at a cool temperature with similar colours, and skip the tumble dryer where you can, as heat is what wears fibres and fades colour. Check the care label on each pair, especially on finer or blended yarns.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are crew socks?

Crew socks are mid-length socks that sit above the ankle bone, roughly at mid-calf. They are the most versatile length, showing a little above trainers and loafers while staying comfortably in place under trousers.

What socks should I wear with loafers?

Fine crew socks look great with loafers, either in a colour that picks up something in your outfit or in a subtle pattern such as a dot or grid. Wear them with a cropped trouser or skirt so the sock is on show.

Which sock brands does Kiti stock?

Our socks edit includes Becksöndergaard, Bellerose, Damson Madder and BAGGU. Stock is bought in small batches and never restocked, so the designs change through the season.

Do socks make a good gift?

Yes. Socks are one of the easiest gifts to get right because they do not depend on clothing size. A two-pack or a couple of contrasting pairs makes a thoughtful stocking filler or birthday extra.

How should I wash designer socks?

Wash socks inside out at a cool temperature with similar colours and avoid the tumble dryer where possible, as heat wears the fibres and fades colour. Always check the care label on each pair.

Can I buy socks in store in Cardiff?

Yes. You will find our socks in the shop on Pontcanna Street in Cardiff, alongside the shoes to wear them with. We are always happy to help you pick a pair or put together a gift.
