Rings
Our rings edit is small and carefully chosen: polished gold stacking rings, sculptural statement pieces and a few rings with a little sparkle. You will find waterproof domed and interlocking rings from Orelia and lost-wax cast rings made in the UK by By Alona, in gold plated and sterling silver finishes.
We buy rings in small batches and never restock them, so once a style has gone, it is gone. Explore the full jewellery edit, or visit our Pontcanna Street shop in Cardiff to try rings on for size.
Gold Rings for Women at Kiti
A ring is the piece of jewellery you look at most, so it needs to feel right on the hand as well as look good. We keep our rings edit tight and buy it in small batches, choosing gold rings for women that work with what you already wear: smooth bands that stack, sculptural shapes that stand alone and rings that sit happily next to a wedding or engagement ring.
Rings pair naturally with our bracelets, and many of the same labels feature across our necklaces and earrings edits if you like your finishes to match.
Stacking Rings
Stacking rings are designed to be worn together, two or three to a finger or spread across the hand. The Orelia LUXE Domed Ring is a smooth, highly polished dome that is made for stacking and for mixing metals, while their LUXE Interlocking Ring links two bands into one for a ready-made stack. Both are 18k gold plated stainless steel and waterproof, so they can stay on through hand washing and swimming. The Orelia Pave Wave Ring adds a band of crystals in a wavy gold setting, which is a lovely way to bring a little sparkle into a stack.
Statement Rings
A statement ring does the work on its own. By Alona cast their Gaia ring using the lost-wax technique, giving it an organic, textured form inspired by ancient Italian stone; it comes in 18k gold plated bronze or sterling silver. Their Celestine ring is an open 18k gold plated brass design set with a teardrop cubic zirconia, subtle enough for every day and striking enough to wear alone.
For something softer, the Orelia Statement Molten Pearl Ring crowns a molten-effect gold plated band with a faux pearl, which looks just as good with knitwear as it does with an evening dress.
How to Wear and Stack Rings
Start with one ring you love and build around it. Mix a smooth band with something textured or stone-set, and leave a finger free between busy hands so the look stays deliberate. Gold and silver together is entirely acceptable, and often looks more modern than matching. If you wear a wedding or engagement ring, a slim domed or pavé band either side frames it well.
- Everyday: one domed or interlocking band
- Stacked: a plain band plus a pavé or textured ring
- Statement: one sculptural ring on the index or middle finger
- Mixed metals: gold and sterling silver on the same hand
Finding Your Ring Size
Our labels size their rings in different ways, so check the product page before you buy. Orelia rings come in S/M and M/L, with inside diameters of around 16mm and 18mm. By Alona rings come in medium (UK O) and large (UK Q). The simplest way to check is to measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits the finger you plan to wear it on, or pop into our Cardiff shop and try them on.
Gold Plated Rings and Sterling Silver
Our gold rings are gold plated, meaning a layer of real gold over stainless steel, brass or bronze, and we also stock sterling silver. Plating gives you a bold gold look every day at a sensible price. Rings take more knocks than most jewellery, so the waterproof stainless steel styles are a good choice if you rarely take your rings off.
Caring for Your Rings
Take brass and bronze based rings off before washing up, swimming, cleaning or applying hand cream, and wipe them with a soft dry cloth after wearing. Store each ring separately in its pouch so they do not scratch one another. Waterproof stainless steel rings can be worn in water, though a rinse in fresh water after the sea or a pool keeps them bright.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find my ring size?
Measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits the finger you want to wear it on and compare it with the sizing on the product page. Our rings come in S/M and M/L or in medium and large, and you are welcome to try them on in our Cardiff shop.
What are stacking rings?
Stacking rings are slimmer rings designed to be worn together on one finger or spread across the hand. Smooth domed bands, interlocking rings and pavé styles are the easiest to combine.
Are gold plated rings waterproof?
Rings made on stainless steel and described as waterproof can be worn in water. Gold plated brass or bronze rings last longer if you take them off for washing up, swimming and applying hand cream.
Do gold plated rings turn your finger green?
Good quality gold plated rings should not, but moisture, soap and lotions can wear plating over time and expose the base metal. Keeping rings dry and choosing stainless steel or sterling silver styles reduces the chance of discolouration.
Can you mix gold and silver rings?
Yes. Mixing gold and silver rings looks relaxed and modern, and it makes it easier to wear new rings alongside a wedding or engagement ring in a different metal.
Which finger should I wear a statement ring on?
The index and middle fingers are the classic choice for a statement ring because they give it room to stand out. Keep the rest of that hand simple so the ring stays the focus.
